Saturday saw the hosting of the inaugural Theuniskraal Trail Run, on the historic Theuniskraal Wine Estate in the Tulbagh Valley.
After a quick cold front hit the area earlier in the week, runners could not have asked for better conditions on the day as about a 100 runners set off on their run through the estate on a cloudless day with the majestic Winterhoek Mountain range creating a stunning backdrop. Runners had the option of a shorter 7km route, or the more challenging 15km, with both routes sporting loads of single track, technical adventure sections & an icy river crossing or two!
AJ Calitz blitzed the 15km route setting the course record at 55:30, followed home by Llewellyn Groeneveld in 57:20 & Adriaan Geldenhuys in 57:50.
