If you’re a runner who likes to explore new trails, like a bit of adventure or just looking for a run that covers almost everything trail running can throw your way, look no further than the Cape Pine Plantation in Grabouw. Your options are endless as the terrain varies from smooth & sandy single track to very technical single track, forestry roads, jeep track & even some beach running next to the dam.
Much like Jonkershoek, you can run a short 5km single track loop, have an adventure crossing a river or two heading into the mountains, or run for hours exploring various trails the area has to offer. Starting from the main gate/security hut, you can immediately run on mtb single track that snakes through the pine plantations, or follow the forestry roads and make your way to the hills in the distance. In summer, the best way to cool off after your run is to take a dip in the Eikenhof dam, before enjoying a refreshing drink on the balcony of the Elgin/Grabouw Country Club overlooking the dam & the majestic Hottentots Holland Mountains.
